Montana Governor Greg Gianforte signed Senate Bill 555 into law. It became Chapter 626 of the 2025 session laws and took effect on October 1, 2025, amending Mont. Code Ann. 23-5-112, 23-5-123, 23-5-154, and 23-5-162.

The amended internet-gambling definition reaches a platform that transmits or receives gambling information, allows a bet using any form of currency, and makes payouts of any form of currency. Online casinos that allow no currency of any kind are expressly permitted.
